Dr. Di Luzio graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 1993, and subsequently specialized with honors in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Bologna in 1998.
She earned a PhD with honors in Prenatal Medicine, Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy from the University of Milan in 2001, followed by a Master’s degree in Fetal Echocardiography (2014) and in PNEI – Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology.
She has obtained several certifications, including from the Fetal Medicine Foundation for nuchal translucency screening (1996), in fetal neurosonography (2010), IOTA (2015), and for pelvic floor disorders. In 2024, she completed the SIWF certification in prenatal ultrasound (SGUM).
Dr. Di Luzio completed a Research Fellowship at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London under the supervision of Prof. K. Nicolaides (1996–1998).
Since 1996, she has been a university lecturer in maternal-fetal medicine and ultrasound diagnostics at the University of Bologna and regularly conducts training courses in advanced and 3D gynecological ultrasound, including in the field of infertility. She has also collaborated as a lecturer with renowned institutions such as Humanitas, Niguarda, and San Carlo.
She is actively involved in the advanced ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of pelvic pathologies (endometriosis, PCOS, uterine malformations), infertility, menopause, and pregnancy, with particular expertise in 3D/4D ultrasounds and Doppler flowmetry.
Dr. Di Luzio is Head of the Gynecological and Prenatal Ultrasound Diagnostic Service and works in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic at our Next Fertility ProCrea center.
She also performs the following services:
● Level II 3D gynecological ultrasounds for dysmenorrhea, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, and recurrent miscarriage; diagnosis of uterine malformations and dysmorphisms; fibroid mapping; Doppler flowmetry of the uterine arteries
● Clinical evaluation of infertile couples, with attention to clinical, nutritional, and deficiency-related causes
● Personalized menopause management (phytotherapy, bioidentical hormones, SERMs, hormone replacement therapy)
● Level II (advanced) obstetric ultrasounds, 3D/4D, for singleton and twin pregnancies
● Sono-hysterosonography and sonosalpingography
She is licensed to practice medicine in Switzerland (Mebeko recognition) and in the Cantons of Ticino, Grisons, and Bern. She speaks Italian, English, and French.
