Dr. Marina Bellavia studierte an der Fakultät für Medizin und Chirurgie der Universität La Sapienza in Rom und schloss ihr Studium im Jahr 2002 mit einer Note von 110/110 cum laude ab. Sie begann ihre postgraduale Ausbildung an der Abteilung für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe des Policlinico Umberto I in Rom, insbesondere im Zentrum für Endometriose und chronischen Schmerz, wo sie ihre Dissertation über „Psychoimmunologie der Endometriose“ verfasste. Im Jahr 2005 trat sie dem Team für Reproduktionsmedizin am CHUV in Lausanne als Assistentin und später als Klinikleiterin bei. Im Jahr 2007 erlangte sie ihre Spezialisierung in Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe an der Universität Bari mit einer Note von 70/70 cum laude. 2011 erhielt sie eine Spezialisierung in gynäkologischer Endokrinologie und Reproduktionsmedizin an der Universität Lausanne.
Seit 2013 arbeitet Dr. Bellavia in der Procrea Klinik in Lugano, und am 1. April 2021 wurde sie zur Medizinischen Direktorin ernannt.
Dr. Bellavia ist Mitglied des Komitees der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Reproduktionsmedizin (SGRM) und FIVNAT. Ihre Hauptinteressengebiete sind assistierte Reproduktion, mit einem besonderen Schwerpunkt auf Endometriose, Unfruchtbarkeitschirurgie, männliche Unfruchtbarkeit, gynäkologische Endokrinologie und Menopause.
Dr. Bellavia ist auch in der Forschung bei Next Fertility Procrea aktiv und arbeitet an verschiedenen Forschungsprojekten im Bereich der medizinisch unterstützten Fortpflanzung mit.
